Just a normal Sunday lunch with a family from Southern Italy.
This is what happened yesterday at lunchtime! Our family, which is hosting us in Calabria, prepared tons of homemade fettuccine for the Sunday lunch. I am still impressed by the spontaneity and the welcoming souls they have. In Italy, as in other cultures, preparing a meal for someone is the best way to say "I want to take good care of you and share something good and precious with you". This is why the most common question an Italian granny (nonna) would ask is: "Have you eaten yet?"
Then the fettuccine were served with cream, ham and....PORCINI MUSHROOM! No words!
How to prepare homemade fettuccine: just add flour, eggs and loads of love! If you don't have an Italian grandma to teach you, you can find a nice video-recipe here!
