Three days in Kings Landing!

What a city! Dubrovnik is an incredible place, you will find everything: history, good food, nice people, incredible sea, mountains, breathtaking views and cats!! I mean, what else? The old town is beautiful to say the least: the bright limestone streets, the baroque buildings, the lovely harbour, the little alleys everything is enclosed within ancient medieval walls you can walk along. The city not too big and you can visit it thoroughly in a couple of days, if you're a fan you would recognize some elements of the set of Game of Thrones, particularly of Kings Landing. It is quite an expensive destination though, still visiting for a couple of days can be affordable. Getting lost in the little alleys is a must. You will discover so many incredible churches, lovely restaurants and cafes and cats...cats sleeping in every corner. I have seen so many little furry guys that I'll make dedicated post!

Probably because I am a cat lover, but I have pleasantly noticed that very often cats lay down right in front of houses or shops of people taking care of them (actually sometimes you find them sleeping inside shops...take a note about it if you're allergic).

Food wise Dubrovnik has plenty of restaurants to choose from. Italian cuisine is very popular, but if you want to try something typical I would recommend you to go to Kopun Restaurant, which is also nicely located. I also advise you to have breakfast at Arsenal Restaurant, at the old port. You will enjoy some delicious food and an amazing view for quite a reasonable price. Afterwards, you may fancy a boat tour. Personally, I have joined the "three island tour": a full day out with lunch and drinks included for 40 €. The crew on the boat is very friendly and professional, the food is good and there are plenty of drinks and then well... the islands! Kolocep, Lopud and Sispanska Luka are three pearls in the middle of the shimmery Adriatic sea, the view, the sea, everything is amazing.

Also, a walk along Dubrovnik's wall is highly recommended, particularly at sunset. Not only if you go on summertime the sun would not be too hot, but you would also enjoy the marvellous view over the old town roof lighten up by the warm golden light. You may also want to take the cable car up to Fort Imperial (about 800 meters) where you can enjoy a great panorama of the old city. The price for a round trip is over 20 € which is quite pricey considering how short the ride is, but if you're on a budget and want to do some hiking there is also a free trial path you can do to reach the fort.

Dubrovnik is a very special place that now has taken a spot inside my heart also because I visited it for a reunion trip with three amazing friends I met during my first months in London.

Please check the gallery below to see the pictures I took in this incredible destination and stay tuned for the next post about Dubrovnik's cats!
